Curriculum of Audio Recording Course

 
 

Semester I

 
The First semester of Audio Recording course introduces the students from various audio/music backgrounds and puts them together on the same learning plane. After getting formally introduced into Audio Recording course, the students are then given a know-how of the hardware, equipment and technology they will be implementing through the rest of the course and throughout their careers as professionals in the audio recording industry. This is followed by an in-depth study of the most important element of the modern recording industry - the digital audio workstation(DAW). From basic editing to advanced mixing techniques, this section gives the student a detailed know-how of ProTools by Digidesign which is the most prominent and widely used DAW throughout the world today.

Semester II

   
       
  Modelled on international standards, the second semester of the course opens innovative parallel dimensions of learning and skill building. The students now step into the whole experience of listening and analysis which is of utmost importance to anyone working in the the industry and is make or break as far as ones standing and growth in the profession is concerned. The latter half of this semester gives the option to choose between two elective subjects as by this time the students will begin to get an idea of their area of concentration in this extremely wide open field. Audio for pictures gives an overview of the application of audio and its important role in the film industry. Some important techniques of modern dubbing and sound recording for films will be covered here. Acoustics is a fast evolving concentration with rapid innovation in studio design and its technology. The elementary science of sound and the application of the same in order to create the best listening, monitoring and recording environment will be taught under this elective.
