Ruhani Kaur has been making documentary photo stories since 2002and is currently freelancing. She has been published in many National and International Newspapers and Magazines. Her work on humanitarian issues has also been used by many Development Organizations for advocacy purposes. She was the Photo Editor of
Open Magazine, a national news weekly she was with for six years, from the time of its inception to April’2014. She was awarded the Days Japan International Photojournalism Grand Prix award’2006 for her work on India’s Missing Women-Female Foeticide. This was exhibited across Japan, The Photo Biennale in Daegu and India Habitat Centre in Delhi and continues to be used by UNFPA for its advocacy. When not photographing she can be found either behind a pottery wheel, in a cinema hall or off traveling.
