Is the Sri Aurobindo Society and/or SACAC a religious Body?

The Sri Aurobindo Society is a spiritual organization with the intention of advancing mankind to a better world order. It does not promote any kind of religious ideas or beliefs. Persons belonging to any faith and belief can participate in its activities as long as they are tolerant to others beliefs and work towards advancement for oneself and the society as a whole.

Where is SACAC Located?

SACAC is based in New Delhi, India and is located in Adhchini crossing on Mehrauli Road, South Delhi. It is behind IIT and adjacent to the NCERT campus. The SACAC campus is very well connected with the rest of the city by public transport. The campus is a secure place with guards round the clock and the students need have no apprehensions about security while working on campus late in the evening.

Does SACAC provide/arrange accommodation for students?

SACAC doesn’t provide hostel or lodging and boarding facility. However, to facilitate accommodation for outstation students, we do assist students with accommodation in nearby areas where hostel and accommodation services are offered by private parties at reasonable rates. These are generally places where students from previous year have stayed. SACAC only acts as facilitator and does not take responsibility of the students or the place of their stay.

Does SACAC have a Code of conduct and/or a dress code?

There is no official dress code at SACAC. However, students must wear decent attire on any normal day. On specific days when student are to meet visiting dignitaries or have mock presentations to make or interviews to attend, students are expected to wear formal clothing.

Is a SACAC PG Diploma recognized by a University or a government body like the AICTE?

The Diploma and P. G. Diploma conferred at the completion of the course is not recognized by any university but is well recognized by the Industry. The diploma is an acknowledgement of the skills that you acquire during the year in accordance with what the industry expects of a professional depending on the particular stream.

Does SACAC provide placements for its students?

The media industry recognises and rewards the individual merit of a professional. Thus placement is not guaranteed by the institution. However, it will arrange for internships, provide placement assistance, and access to interviews with various media houses and other recruiters as a part of the course.

Is there any other cost that one must bear in mind while pursuing the course?

The fee includes the tuition and examination fees during the course. The students have to bear any/all additional expenditure for all mandatory overnight trips for the entire session; payment has to be made for transport, food and stay, as per instructions put up by the office on the notice board. Overnight trips will range from one to three nights. For your personal field trips, you are responsible for all arrangements and expenses.

Does SACAC provide a study loan for students?

SACAC does not provide a loan directly to the students. The institute has, however, made arrangements with the City Union Bank in Delhi to facilitate educational loan to students who have been admitted to the Sri Aurobindo Centre for Arts and Communication for the academic year 2011 - 12. The educational loan will be on the prevailing rate of interest decided by the bank. The amount of loan provided to the student will be decided by the bank. The granting of loan will be subjected to criteria of the bank and the final decision will be theirs.
