Film Direction and Script Writing Course Curriculum

This course is a mix of the regular Film Direction courses and Scriptwriting courses those are often offered separately. The students are expected to have a good flair for writing and excellent command over vocabulary. Additionally the students have to be exceptional sense of leadership and motivation as compared to other areas of specializations as it is the directors who have to get the film making team organized, lead and motivate them towards film production. It is said that film direction cannot be taught. However at SACAC, we believe that by providing film making opportunities and providing guidance during the process will make the student evolve strategies that fits their unique personalities. Good scriptwriting is crucial for a director to understand cinematic element that makes filmmaking a unique mode of expression. This mixed Film Direction course and Scriptwriting course will help the student to develop a script from a story, translate into a screenplay and then direct it to produce it into a finished film. The exercises give deeper insight into script writing and directing fiction and documentary. This enables the students to learn the key aspects of screenplay writing, film direction and film production and the importance of team working that is essential to be a professional in the filmmaking career.
