The programme is spread over three semesters. The first semester is common for students of specialisations. This introductory semester is structured to work as a foundation for anyone who wants to enter to the professional world of film making.
From the second semester students get specific learning according to their chosen stream of specialization. However, they collectively participate in the exercises and sessions on film related aesthetics. Exercises on celluloid and latest HD formats, sessions on craft of fillmaking, shooting documentary/ actuality and fictional styles gives a 360 ° degree understanding of storytelling techniques.
The third semester starts with a unique study tour where the students will be taken to Prasad Lab in Chennai, International Film Festival of Kerela in Tiruvananthapuram, Sri Aurobindo Ashram in Puducherry and the international city of Auroville which will have sessions to intellectually broaden the students' understanding of art and expression.
These 16-month programmes are designed to give a thorough introduction to the required attitude and technicalities involved in film & video production. While the specialisation classes take the students deeper into the aesthetics and craft involved their chosen area, the regular film screenings & appreciation, art practice & appreciation and self development modules give a holistic learning preparing students with confidence and positivity. Over all, the course grounds the students in crucial aspects of cinematic storytelling while equipping them with latest digital technologies and classical celluloid format.
