Shorts is comparatively as a genre in India. It is quite different from the short features which have been made for a long time. With the advent of new cheaper technologies, cinema production has seen a paradigm shift. It is far more cheaper to make films than ever before. The new age digital cameras are light and small and can be placed at any nook and corner to get newer perspectives. The editing process of today is quicker and convenient than that of the good old moviola days. The distribution is quick and the audience is global. But are these changing the way cinema is produced and seen? Is Shorts an outcome of such an evolution? .

The panel discussion “Aestheshorts” aims at raising debate and discussion on these aspects of cinematic evolution. Aestheshorts will take place every day from 12th Dec till 15th Dec 2008 from 3 pm till 5 pm at the Alliance Francaise auditorium. There will be four sessions, each will be taking up different aspects of this genre such as content, form, technology (digital format) and marketing.
