“Raah” at 11th IAWRT Film Festival 2015

Event overview

Pleased to inform that Radhika Fatania’s CDC Diploma film Raah has been selected for the 11th International Association of Women in Radio and Television Film Festival 2015 to be held from 3rd to 5th March 2015.

Film synopsis: Raah is director Radhika Fatania’s last project in film school—her diploma film. This film aptly explores the director’s struggle to create a niche for herself, as a filmmaker, amidst her orthodox family. Additionally the filmmaker revisits her identity as an artist, first as a dancer, then a filmmaker. She does this by discussing her film script with her father, who later tells her “rolling stones never gather moss.” The camerawork featured illustrates Fatania’s passion to even just hold the camera and explore spaces, faces, dialogues within her life, her film. Fatania carefully weaves in the importance of each relationship, and questions herself and her individuality through the film. Raah outlines the struggle of being an independent female filmmaker and learning of one’s own identity.
