Jai Arjun Singh

Jai Arjun Singh is an author, freelance writer and critic based in Delhi. His first book was “Jaanebhi do Yaaro – Seriously Funny since 1983 published by HarperCollins). He has also edited an anthology of film writing: “The Popcorn Essayists: What Movies do to Writers” published by Tranquebar.

He has conducted workshops on film criticism at various venues including TEDx, the Kala Ghoda Arts Festival in Mumbai and Delhi University colleges. His latest book: The World of Hrishikesh Mukherjee (Penguin).

His columns, reviews and essays – mainly about literature and cinema –have appeared in many publications including The Hindu, Business Standard, Yahoo India, The Hindustan Times, Tehelka, The Caravan, Vogue, DNA, The Sunday Guardian and Forbes Life. Among the more than 1,600 posts on his popular blog Jabberwock (http://jaiarjun.blogspot.com), you will find not just his officially published articles, but also pieces on subjects such as evil water tanks, matrimony, tennis, Delhi traffic, and Ekta Kapoor’s short-lived TV serial about the Mahabharata.
