TECHNICAL ASSISTANT FOR THE CREATIVE DOCUMENTARY COURSE: NEW DELHI

 The Creative Documentary Course (CDC) at Sri Aurobindo Centre for Arts and Communication (SACAC) is an intensive pedagogical program dedicated to documentary practice. CDC has been working in collaboration with Thinking Film and Goethe - Institut / Max Mueller Bhavan since 2017, and is currently in its fourth edition.

We seek a sincere, responsible and resourceful individual for the post of Technical Assistant. The person will be responsible for checking and monitoring the state of equipment on the campus, among other duties.

The candidate should have elementary technical and maintenance skills relating to:

  • Mac and Windows computers, UPSs
  • FCP/ Adobe editing software
  • DSLR cameras and sound equipment

Responsibilities include a variety of jobs, including but not limited to the following:

  • Assisting with day to day running of the course
  • Procuring course related materials and other allied jobs
  • Coordinating with equipment hire companies

The remuneration is likely to be in the range of Rs.15 – 20,000, but will depend on the skills and experience of the applicant.

Commitment timeline by contract is minimum 2 years with a probation period of 3 months.

COURSE PRODUCTION ASSISTANT FOR THE CREATIVE DOCUMENTARY COURSE: NEW DELHI

CDC has been working in collaboration with Thinking Film and Goethe - Institut / Max Mueller Bhavan since 2017, and is currently in its 4th edition.

We seek a sincere, responsible and resourceful person for the post of Course Production Assistant.

  • The candidate should have an ability and talent for a range of administrative work. Some technical proficiency would be a bonus.
  • Knowledge of Mac and Windows computers, and basic software is an essential.
  • A good command of English, oral and written, as well as a working knowledge of Hindi are prerequisites.
  • Along with basic computer skills, additional working knowledge of Illustrator/InDesign will be helpful.

Responsibilities include a variety of jobs that can be imagined in running a filmmaking course, including but not limited to the following:

  1. Day to day administrative work
  2. Minor technical assistance - checking and monitoring the state of the equipment on campus, including computers, UPSs etc.
  3. Some amount of archiving and documentation
  4. Coordination, outreach, promotion activities
  5. Teaching assistantship - this depends on the capabilities and interests of the candidate.

The remuneration will be commensurate with the skills and experience of the applicant.
