Images speak a language that language itself cannot describe.

If you have ever been drawn to the world of images, or to telling stories through pictures, this workshop will offer an exploratory space to discover your distinctive style and voice.

Beginning with an introduction to the domain of illustration and its many applications, it will focus on story-telling through hand-drawn images, and unpack practical approaches to the creative process of narrative illustration.

Participants will practice different techniques of mark-making, sketching, and visual ideation through a range of playful exercises, assignments, live drawing sessions and group work. The workshop will culminate in the creation of a group publication and an exhibition.

The workshop is for anyone who enjoys drawing or story-telling, or is curious about what illustration entails, or would like to explore a new form of creative expression.

No prior experience needed. A list of materials will be shared upon registration.
