Bharat Choudhary is an Indian-British photographer currently based in New Delhi. After a career in international development, Bharat decided to quit his job and pursue photography. He was awarded the Ford Foundation International Fellowship for his graduate education. He received his MA in Photojournalism from the University of Missouri in 2010. He has been the recipient of several awards for his work, The Silence of ‘Others’, including the Alexia Foundation Professional Grant in 2011 and the Getty Images Grant for Editorial Photography in 2012. He has thrice been a finalist for the W. Eugene Smith Grant, and a finalist for the Aftermath Project in 2016. He was a jury member for the 9th China International Press Photo Competition.
Choudhary is an alumnus of Sri Aurobindo Centre for Arts and Communication.
