Kavita Nayar, born in 1957, is a distinguished Indian artist known for her mastery in printmaking and exploration across mediums like oil, acrylic, pastel, and watercolour. She earned her BFA from Kala Bhavana, Shantiniketan (1979), and MFA from the College of Art, New Delhi (1989). A Charles Wallace India Trust scholar, she was a Visiting Artist at the Ruskin School of Art, Oxford (1995–96), and held a Senior Fellowship from India’s HRD Ministry (1997–99). Former Vice President of the Indian Printmaker’s Guild, her emotive, imaginative work has been exhibited internationally and is held in major collections across Europe and the U.S.
