Nikhil Mawkin

Nikhil Mawkin, is a multi-instrumentalist from New Delhi and is based out of Xalapa, Mexico. He has studied at the Berklee College of Music and stays busy performing about 150 to 200 shows annually. He has also produced and arranged for many acts from around the world, Raag Billy Bop and Akash Vincent, his favourites.

He began performing at the age of 17 and sang with choirs such as The Neemrana Music Foundation and Capital City Minstrels, where he had the opportunity to participate in the reputed Opera The Pearl Fishers.

His mentorship from his vocal coach at the time, Mr. Hur Chul Young, led him to discover his performance abilities as impersonating Elvis. While it helped him break through the music scene of Delhi, his education in Boston taught him that Music is indeed a journey of self-discovery and expression.

His project Bollyjazz performs sold out shows at The Piano Man Jazz Club in Delhi and Gurgaon, and is an in-demand project in the world of private events in India. Nikhil is completed by his partner Nathalie Ramirez Tovar, who is a versatile and profoundly-educated musician from Mexico. Nikhil and Nathalie perform together in “Bollyjazz, “Nat y amigos” and “Nik and Nat”. Nathalie has played an important role towards Nikhil’s consistent upbringing in the world of performing.

Presently, Nikhil and Nathalie are aiming at establishing themselves equally in Mexico, as much as they have in India.

Nikhil is a visiting faculty at the SACAC's Audio School.
