SACAC organised an insightful session titled Photobooks: New Narratives and Creative Authorship with photographer, curator, and arts educator Anshika Varma. The conversation explored the photobook as a powerful medium for storytelling, offering possibilities that extend beyond traditional exhibition formats. Drawing from her extensive experience in photography, publishing, and curatorial practice, Anshika discussed how photobooks open space for experimentation, intimacy, and layered narratives that reimagine the relationship between image and text. Students gained valuable insights into conceiving, designing, and publishing photobooks, while reflecting on their evolving significance in contemporary visual culture. The session inspired fresh perspectives on creativity and authorship.
