A 12-week music production course designed to stand apart from the crowd. Built on hands-on music production learning, this intensive music production certification course addresses the shifting demands of the modern music industry.

This comprehensive music production course connects technical music production skills with creative music vision, providing the essential music production toolkit for kickstarting your journey in professional music production and audio engineering.

Curriculum

A 12-week journey through music production that covers ground through three progressive phases. The first phase builds foundations with sound and audio fundamentals, DAW navigation, signal processing, and practical music theory. The second step focuses on creative production, including MIDI programming, synthesis, and sampling. The final phase brings it all together with mixing training - starting from scratch and navigating your way through increasingly complex decisions, you'll develop both technical skills and creative intuition to make your music sound professional.

Trimester 1: Foundations in Sound and Music

Start your journey in sound engineering with the core principles of sound, music, and listening. Learn the fundamentals of audio, acoustics and Digital Audio; explore Western and Hindustani music theory through melody, rhythm, and solfege. Dive into the “Void of Sound” to rethink silence, space, and the act of listening.

Trimester 2: Recording, Rhythm, and Global Sounds

Build technical fluency with hands-on training in Pro Tools and signal processing and sound engineering. Explore global music styles, perform in ensembles and develop your musicality through collaborative projects. Dive deeper into Western music theory with ideas of harmonic flow and explore ragas, rhythm, and advanced vocal percussion.

Trimester 3: Production, Performance, and Sonic Identity

Explore music production with synthesis, beat-making, and vocal production. Create genre-driven projects and dive into advanced mixing, arrangement, and sound art with workshops and field visits. A deeper look at Western and Hindustani music theory with more complex systems of chords, raaga harmony.

Trimester 4: Real-World Projects and Creative Direction

Step into real-world music production and sound engineering with projects in video scoring, podcasting, jingles, and sound design. Hone your skills in DAWs while building a portfolio. Focus on creative direction through sound installations and performance showcases. Wrap up studies in the music systems with projects in student-led compositions.

Trimester 5: Capstone, Mastery, and Mentorship

Finish capstone projects in sound engineering, studio production, podcasting, mixing and mastering under mentorship. Gain insight through workshops on music business, law, and live sound. A 20-day band residency culminates your journey with a collaborative performance.

From designing immersive sonic experiences as sound designers to arranging music across genres as music arrangers, our alumni continue to push creative boundaries.

At SACAC Audio School, our selection process is thoughtfully designed to assess each candidate’s potential and alignment with the field of Audio Engineering and Music Production. Conducted either online or on campus, the process goes beyond standard forms and applications.
